Oh dear...
I never said "the game is FOR someone". Or did I? Please quote me saying "this is the game for Ukrainians only", but in private message.
What I am trying to find out is why people associate the
story, the
in-game locations, the
in-game characters with Russia.
For sure, as soon as the game is released it is meant for
anyone to play it. For sure, the original and actual disaster happened in Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, to be more precise - in Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (both are USSR, hehe...). For sure, at that point of time, the entire non-USSR world made no difference between Ukrainians, Russians, Belarus, Kazakhs, Georgians, Armenian etc. - they were all "Soviet" or "Russians" (I hope the Russians love their children too
Sting). For sure, for most part of the world they all remained Russians or post-soviet after USSR broke up.
But!
It's time to see things changed. It's time to be more attentive to the
plot of the game you play, to the
geography it involves, to the
chevrons of military you meet in the game or
emblem on the UAZ vehicles you find.
If the game would be based on events and geography of Kursk Magnetic Anomaly (as example) - I would never started posting things like that. Because Kursk is Russia. But Chernobyl is Ukraine.
