Stalkers joking near campfires...

I was wondering: if your world wide version of the game contains translation of the stalkers' campfire stories?

Because they have nice ones there and if you do not know them - I will translate them for you! )

Like...

Once novice stalker got to the Zone alone. He came to the lake that was not specified on the map. Stalker felt uneasy and strated to plan how to go on but then he saw a guy walking in his direction. The guy hadn't have any weapon with him and novice asked if it is ok for experienced stalker to lead the way for novice. Stalker said "No problem and I'm heading the same way so I will take you on the other side of the lake." So they were walking on the lakeshore and novice decided to flatter:
- You are probably professional and experienced stalker as walking around without weapon, - he said, - don't you afraid anything?
- Who should I afraid here, - laughed stalker?
- Well, zombies, snorks, controllers and other horrible monsters.
Elder stalker frowned:
- I agree about zombies and snorks... but why should anybody afraid of us, controllers?

Didn't you see that most of lines said in russian have been already translated? They are available on the site named 'Zone Survival Guide'...

So their site is really covering every aspect of vanilla stalker... like a stalker encyclopedia or something like that... In my opinion most of it is quite useless, but let it be if ppl like it...

I would prefer that gubr translate them, if it's not asking too much. It was really nice to read. And as you suppose yes, me for example, as I have the french version of the game, important things (talking) are translated in french, but taunting, jokes, and some insults, I suppose, aren't translated.

I understand some basics like papa-yu-su, when you are dying, ne-sta-lev for saying put your weapons down. But I think I will stop there as I think I'm ripping apart the language, still I would like to know what the other jokes are, but the other you translated is black-humor mostly.

(Also, it's a joke, but I never say a controller trying to be friendy, then suddently attacking you, but they don't use weapons, yes).

I liked this one:

A stalker comes to a doctor:
- Doctor, I can't sleep, I always dream that I am locked in the Sarcophagus with monsters tearing me apart!
- Oh, that's a controller doing that to you. But I know a remedy! Next time you should go to deep inside the Zone, take a few bottles (of vodka) and give him them.
- Thank you Doctor, you can't imagine how much you helped me!
- No, it's nothing - said the controller - and thanks for the 'doctor', by the way!
(laughter)

(No I don't know russian that much, it's just in "Translations" section on the Zone Survival Guide site...)

BTW: From other lines in russian from the game, personally I loved those from combat, ex. when you're shooting to bandits they often call you "Pacan" or say "Pacaa-ny" when they die from your bullet... or when you're shooting each other with monolith or freedom: "Prykriway, ya pashol", "Moojyk, ty troop" :D. Those are SO atmospheric...

(I tried to write in english phonetics, but it's hard)

Patsan/patsany - (fellow/fellows, dudes) mostly used by low-hand bandits or guys who think they are cool! )

Prikryvaj! Ja poshel! - Cover me! I'm moving out!

Moojik, ty troop - Man, you're dead!

A my - chiki-bryki i v damki! - means to make a good move, to have a good deal easy, to have something valuable for free of charge. With this intonation I can only imagine a bandit or a gangster saying this! )

Ne mandrazhuj, patsany! - Don't be afraid, dudes! - this "mandrazhuj" is from bandit lexicon also.

Two stalkers met in the Zone:
- Do you remember Vasya? Well the guy ho wanted to enlist to the Flight Academy.
- Yeah, so what.
- He got in the "spring-board" (or ski-jump - they call one of the anomalies)! Could say his dream came true! )))))

Once bandits cought a freedomer and decided to torture him to get from him an information about nearest hidden goods. So they started to put him in a barrel of water:
- Where are the goods and money? they asking him.
- Sorry, - the freedomer says.
Bandits put him in the barrel again, after a while take him out and ask again:
- Where are the goods and money?
- Nothing.
Bandits put him in the barrel again, after a while take him out and ask again:
- Any goods or money?
The freedomer frowned and said:
- Folks, weather you keep me there longer or put me deeper - it's dark there, I can't see my bloody nose there even!

heh, thats lol... Patsan or Pacan (in polish pronunciation) mean something like dumbhead or an asshole (it's more or less offensive but nothing like mates, buddies or so).

I would like to see more. Altought, I didn't really understood the last one. I know it's hard, but be sure to translate so that's it's perfectly understandable in english.

Panda, They wanted him to say where are Freedom's stashes, and he thought that they want him to find some loot at the bottom of this barrel... and finally he said that he can't even see his nose there (so how could he find anything there). No matter if you understand this one or not, in game it prabobly ends with words of some stalker who says: "Nye smyeshno" which means "It's not funny" because it's not, really...

Once a stalker found a road sign: "To the left - many artefacts and many monsters. Straight ahead - couple artefacts and few monsters. To the right - booz and girls and hell knows how many artefacts." He thought for a while and went straight ahead. So he is walking and thinking: "When I'm back in the camp better ask people what are those new horrible monsters "booz and girls"?" )))))

They say there is a stalker in the Zone who do not smoke and drink vodka. You can find him easily in the Zone with Geiger detector. ))))
