Stalker Re-Animation Project: Lost Alpha

Postby kingfriday » Sun May 11, 2014 6:30 am

Hello!

I have been convinced that it would be a good idea to start a Lost Alpha version of "SRAP"

If anyone has used my mod (or the countless packs and mods with my mod in it), or lurk. You know I intend to reanimate all the weapons in game. Though this time it will be a bit different. To stay in the spirit of the mod I will be remaking the animations as close to the original SHOC animations as possible. But less "made by a 12 year oldish".

I have modified the hands models, smoothed and fixed UV's. You will be able to use any skin you wish. The new UV's are mapped onto the original texture. Same goes for the weapon models. Weapon models will be slightly modified (removed mirrored extra ejection ports on some models, mesh cleanup.) Models will NOT be mirrored. It is possible to fix the models to be un-mirrored but it will take extensive uv and texture work, so this will not happen. Also I like having more moving parts in the screen. Makes it look more interesting. Realism is boring by the way...

Wow, wasn't aware you were still active sir.

I've enjoyed all your hard work on LURK/CS/SC!

I'm suprised noone else responded to this thread. Lost Alpha is in need a of a serious weapon overhaul. Glad the best person for the job is interested!

Thanks again!

Yep, never quit. Just release srap2: part 2 recently. Still working on the final part. Now we got "Lost Alpha", and well... my previous animations are just not very good. I was in the process of porting them over but some ass-wipe decided to do it for me and give me no credit... *cough* LAMP *cough*

So I decided "LA" deserved better. I'm working on the ak74 right now. It is awesome so far.

There are other mods? Where are they? How do I get them? Is there a list of them available?

Here is one.

Lamp or Lost Alpha Model Pack. you can find it on the gsc forums.

This is the dink that took my mod, repacked it and released it as another mod. It will hold you over till I get some more animations done. Check the gsc forums for more mods.

Got a new animator/modeler, killaz646 to help me. I'm reworking the new hands a bit to look nicer. He is working on that sorry excuse for a akm that was in the early betas.

we are still trying to stay as close to the original as possible. But the akm is not acceptable. If people would like to test the mod as we go along. Let me know. I will keep releasing skins for you guys to play with.

If you guys want, I will have the ak74u and the PMm uploaded soon.

Killaz646 and I have been busy with the mod. He has finished updating the akm, model and texture. Over 75% of the original model remains, but the dust cover, receiver, and hand guard have been updated, also added ShOC scope, grenade launcher, and silencer. The Uv's and texture have been changed as well. Revolvers are next on his list. He will be doing some additional model fixes and texture tweaks. After that he will be helping me with animation.

New AKM:

Note that ONLY these models we are updating will have new textures. We want to keep everything as close to original as possible so you can enjoy all your favorite skins from places like "FPSB". The hands have been fully updated and are shown with the Akm. You will be able to use any skin for the original arms you want. I re-uved the arms over top of the original texture. so it should work just fine.

When we have made more progress I will release some new skins and upload some game-play videos.

Killaz646 posted an update on the updated model for the .44 mag:

quick update

just finished modelling the .44 magnum, it's still a wip so it may change quite a bit.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img840/8590/uclp.png

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bomjvzq8c4yxyvx/Magnum.png

note: only the cylinder, hammer and trigger remain from the original model as the rest had missing faces, broken smoothing and some odd geometry.

it's mostly based off a smith and wesson m29, the reason I differed from the original ruger gp100 design was that all 3 revolvers in LA are basically the same with different barrel sizes, the snub will also be replaced by this with a shortened barrel. For the raging bull ill probably increase the size of the frame and remodel the barrel, grip and cylinder and do a different texture to match.

I have also made a MODDB page for SRAP: LA.

I think its pretty obvious that we are taking a break.

Killaz646 is out on vacation. I have been swamped with work.

With the new sdk coming out that has me absolutely excited. No more win xp mode... WWWOOOOOO!!!! ^.=.^

And I can't wait to see this coming for LA. Also we could coop or work together on our next project. We need new weapons, can not use the ones from stalker.
