Large Address Aware and other questions

Postby Rivie » Sun May 11, 2014 7:30 am

Hello,
I have been playing the STALKER series of games for many years now, and have installed and played over 2 dozen mods. Some great some not so much. I have the following questions:

• Is Lost Alpha Large Address Aware by default or can I use a script to make it so if it is not?
• If not, will making it so affect performance negatively or for the better?
• What add on packages can we install without causing ill effects (weapons mods etc.)?
• Are there any shortcut switches that can be used such as nointo or noprefetch? These seem to help level and saved game loading in other mods.

Thank you in advance for your help as I’m looking forward to downloading and checking this one out.

LA is not Large Address Aware by default. There's a 4GB patcher for it.

Hey guys. If you know how to do some coding, it would be the preferred method of editing the .exe file in question. Basically there are two settings that you need to modify to tell the application and the OS to use more than 2GB of memory, when possible.

If you don't code, here is a link to another forum that has a nice application that will do it for you. Cheers!

Sorry but, Lost Alpha IS by default LAA enabled and I've just confirmed what I already knew:

Dezo have put so much effort into LA, do you really think they would overlook something like this?
