ok i noticed some possible spam bots on the forum.... im not sure if they are spam bots, or just ppl who like to have funny names and then set a porn page as their homepage... but what should we do against this?

accept them, or delete them?

or turn on the registration activation mail, so bots cant join so easily...

Bots get in whatever damn thing you throw at them, it doesn't matter. Throwing in an e-mail activation just means it takes the bots 3 minutes longer before it gets on, yet bothers actual people trying to join the forums. All you need to do is have a good admin staff and delete the accounts if they start posting up porn or ads.

Yeah, I'll do my best on it... But I don't think I can do something about accounts... I can only delete posts and topics... As for bots it could help to have this image-code verification...

Well, as no one is containing efficiently the internet and advertising, it's not surpising that forums are also often attacked. And yes, after read that, I checked a bit.. and yes, there is some spambots, some can be seem because of their location, but it's hard to find all them.

I suppose that improving security by an image or code or anyway is vital, or tere will have more bothering advertising shitty attacks.

And they should be deleted and annhilated.

OK, so if anyone sees a guy who submitted some spam posts, let us (me or Dez) know on PM or mail, and we'll try to deal with them.

We could also announce that every account which hadn't submitted a post in the first week of it's existance, will be deleted. And also, if some account submitts any kind of spam, it will be also deleted without warnings.

So, for now it's solved. And the topic is dead.

well mostly i get the spams in email, from this site :D

you know, on main site, there is a contact option, so ppl can send us mails to dez0wave@........ :) and it seems, bots are sending stuff there, not on the forum. funny, but dont know how to stop it, since they add "blabla" name all the time, and not existing email, and they are not in the user database :F

FULL CLEAN PROCEDURE

Postby dez » Sun Aug 31, 2008 4:25 am

OK guys, i cleaned this damn site. believe it or not, i deleted 400 spam bots :FFFFFFFFf and more than 200 non active members...

i thought they are normal ppl, well if some of them was not bot, then they will re-register, but since they only had 0 posts, it does not matter.

we had 780 members, now we have ca. 200 :) but at least its not full of shits. i got many spams through the contact menu.

and damn, i just deleted them, and they started to come back, i thnk the engine is fucked up, no matter what i set in registration settings, they come back without anything. we have image code, and also tried that only admin can approve reg. but nothing, they are coming back like ants.

Yes, the fact is that it would be nice to know how to protect the website.

Even if I can't know if some spam I get in my e-mail adress come from the forum bots, I highly doubt they will do anything good for the forum.

We will need advices to know what to do for that they don't come back. But I don't know if there is free protection softwares enought powerfull to repel them, as they are updated with the lattest technology of bothering everyone with garbage.

Also, I don't really see why you would register without posting. Without registration, you are still able to read the forum, but maybe the forum too must be cleaned up.

seems problems will be gone. with hispan1 and widra we fixed the issue, by renaming some links in registration, bots wont be able to bypass the terms and conditions... now removed an other 40 users, so now i see we are low on real living man .D
