Lost Alfa ENB mod

Postby opezdl » Tue May 06, 2014 10:58 am

Hello stalkers!

How about a graphics mod for a stalker mod? :D

But be carefull since LA autors have tweaked and changed r2 render, there are some tricks to make it work and look AWESOME!

So? what it actually does?
  • Smooth Lightning
  • SSAO/SSIL
  • Bloom
  • ColorCorrection
  • SMAA + Sharpening
  • Everything is editable (almost ;) )

Screenshots time:

original, with mod

and just some beatifull shots:

And now the sad part, bugs:
  • with mod running game crashes with window switch (forget about alt-tab)
  • mod engine cant recognise when game starts, so u have to turn it on manually when game already started (DO NOT TURN IT ON ON LOADING OR MAIN MENU!)
  • HUD elements get transparent
  • Your GPU starts actually to work, and can run HOT
  • You MUST read the "readme" file

and here we got a link for a mod package - YaDisk

Pretty sexy !

About ré render, is there any way to tweak it for better performance, because for now i'm pretty frustrated by this.... I have to play the game with shadows...

Well, its rly weird that dx10 runs faster then dx9 with almost same quality presets (have no idea - maybe amount of modding done scary thing with it)

anyway - try to reduce lightning range, vision range, particle range and grass amount - but for some reasons i didnt get much impact reducing them even to minimal values (possible via options menu)

reduce ur screen resolution... or u can remove sunlight (however dinamic shadows will dissapear too)

yes thats external d3d9 library that replaces some of game shaders and injects new. quite buggy though, but result is insane!

unfortunately, original dll autor is busy with Dark Souls modding, and I have no rights to edit d3d9.dll itself... the only thing i can do - make some minor optimisations in xray shaders so it run more smooth.

if we need an update for stalker enb.dll, visit plz enbdev thread. If we can get more ppl affiliated and ask Boris V for further updates - he will do that.

and some more shots with my version:

for news about ENB, visit ModDB page or ENBdev

Currently I'm working with x-ray GI (there're some weird moments about it)

It is interesting how it's possible to get from Lost Alpha such a beautiful picture of a game as from the Call of Pripyat Complete mode? Or from this mode of Clear Sky. Could be the weather type, colour gammut, brisk fulness of colours an option to choose from menue?

hi !
simple question , is that it can be used with dx10 or is only used with DX9 ?
because i see that in the readme : "launch game in DX9 mode (make sure to turn sun shafts OFF)"
and i try with dx10 and there are no effect !

No, it will not work with DX10+, only DX9.
