I like the "rather teach a man to catch a fish" approach. (To your benefit as well since I'll do all the work, test the mod and make it available for distribution to those that want it.)
Clip size is a breeze (I actually had it sorted already before I posted the question.)
The other 2 are a bit more complex.
My first goal is to mod the Kriss so that it actually fits in your 1st weapon (pistol) slot, with a slight decrease in handling to compensate for the fact that you are using it single handed.
I did this previously for the MP5. I created a unique weapon however and used slot = 1
animation_slot = 1
Doing this for the Kriss in it's own file results in a crash however. (Perhaps it's too big? I know trying to have a sniper rifle in that slot for example also causes a crash.) I would think it should be small enough though.
I also tried populating the Silencer fields using a combination of the MP5 and modified Kriss data, but it also resulted in a game crash every time I tried loading it. I may have made a silly mistake somewhere, but I did not see any.
Perhaps I should just take the plunge and try defining a custom weapon (But I was sort of hoping to get away with less effort
